We need a movement to change the name of the building to gold smelter.
Wouldn't Mint be better?

Mint is very nice, if we assume that there are gold coins in the chests. Either way, much better than what it is currently!

Why change existing translation, when you can add a whole 2 new ones! English-UK and English-US on par with English-Original ;-)

Krom, I know you like to joke around a lot in this topic, but your example is simply not fair. I am not asking you to put a new translation into the game. I am asking to make the game more accessible and clear, both for old players and, more importantly, new. Another example I thought of: Condition. It's an odd term and very misleading when you click a soldier or citizen and see his condition. I imagine many people here thought it was related to his health. I sure did. I've watched people stream this game who have never played it before and they sure didn't understand it. KaM is already a very confusing game for beginners. With this in mind, is it truely acceptable to make more unnecessary confusion by deliberately using the wrong words?

The beautiful part of the English language is that it is one of the deepest languages in the world, having hundreds upon hundreds of thousands of words. With such a large vocabulary at our disposal, we have no real reason to be so ambiguous.

Well, maybe another English tongue could be an option. So there would be 2 English in the language selection. It is only one table what have to fill it out with the modern words. Could add it to the new version.

If this is the case, I'd vote to make the new English the default, just because my argument is strictly for new players. But really, I don't care as much as I'm making it out to be ;) Come to think of it, most players are going to be using their own local's language anyway, which probably isn't English :mrgreen:

As discussed with Ben in other place (while sites were down), it sounds like a good idea to maintain original translation intact and add a new English one, with just a couple of overrides for the words that need to be updated (KMR has a mechanish of using Eng in place of missing strings, so if new translation has just a couple of words, with rest missing, they will carry over from default Eng automatically)
