Message Sound

I can't seem to find the message alert sound bit (the trumpet) in my KaM folder. I'd like to use it as my text ring tone so can anyone enlighten me on where to find it/ get it?
Thanks

It is encoded in the file data\sfx\sounds.dat
The easiest way to get it is to start the Reamke, press F11, click Export -> Sounds.
Then browse to KaM Remake\Export\Sounds and you'll find it there.
Cheers,
Lewin.

It's on the main menu, right up the top. (above the debugging panel) To the right of File and Debug but to the left of About. It's actually called Export Data.

Hmm that's strange. Try this: (that's my export of it)
http://lewin.hodgman.id.au/temp/sound_033_sfx_MessageNotice.wav

It is possible that you only heard a click because the sound is very short and some media players can't play very short files. Try it in Windows Media Player too.

Yours works, but mine still doesn't... :x
I tried with Windows Media Player the other day (and just now) and a box appears claiming that Windows Media Player "Encountered an error while playing this file."
If you have time, coulkd you email *yours*? I now no longer want the sound as much as I want to get to the bottom of this...

Right click download -> save file as..

Then download VLC: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

Play the sound with VLC.

Good luck.

I don't think it is the video player, because I tried playing it with my phone and it still doesn't work. No sound.

VERY odd...

Turns out it's not your fault Ben! Sounds won't export from r2411 for me either. I found the issue and fixed it so it'll work in the next demo. Thanks for helping me notice this :)
That file I sent you I exported ages ago, I keep a copy of the exported resources like that somewhere.
If there's anything else I can help you with just let me know.
Lewin.
