may I ask.. is there any difference in the game that is from STEAM..
I found out that peasant rebellion in steam is only 14 mission..

Re: KAM Fans

I don´t think that there is a difference between these two versions. When i remember right, Lewin told me, that it´s only to buy the game, not to buy a special version of it.
So try the download, install it, and if he don´t want you to install it, it will be the wrong version. :)

Re: KAM Fans

NO! Don´t buy KaM Tpr a 2nd time :-) Your steam version is fine(Also when I prefer gog.com :P )

Just follow those steps:
"**This only works if you started the game atleast once**

1. Go to: http://www.kamremake.com/download/.
2. Download the kam_remake_full version.
3. Install it in your current KaM Historical Version folder (for example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Knights and Merchants Historical Version).
4. Go to the folder where you installed KaM Historical Version.
5. Rename or delete "KM_TPR.exe".
6. Go to the KaM Remake foler and select everything (ctrl + a) and then cut everything (ctrl + x).
7. Go 1 folder back to the KaM Historical Version folder and paste the entire directory.
8. Choose move & replace (top option) when the pop up shows up that you are replacing game files.
9. Rename "KaM_Remake.exe" to "KM_TPR.exe".
10. Enjoy !

ps: I did this with windows 7"

I hope I could help you.
Btw about your question what is the difference, I think nothing :D Steam worte sth like new soundtrack or such things, but there is nothing new, as far as i know :-)

Re: KAM Fans

Maybe you can't sneak your scouts into their bases, but right now the AI is actually very easy to manipulate. In fact, there is a member of this forum who is doing his best to exploit the poor AI :P

Of course, the AI is being improved. There are monstrous plans in the future for Remake singleplayer :)

Re: KAM Fans

I heard of Krom working on something like "The General" which will make the AI defend his city in a very sophisticated way, even without defensive positions.

The AI General has been around for a while now. It places defence positions automatically based on choke points and what territory is "owned" by each player. It's working fairly well in r5503, you can see it if you enabled "auto defence" in the map editor. Detecting choke points was a massive task. There's also the AI Mayor that builds the city and manages resources, which you can also see working in r5503 if you enabled "auto build" in the map editor.

The AI General/Mayor haven't changed since r5503, we've been working on other stuff. We'll probably take a look at them again in the future (after the next release) but the AI is a pretty difficult/time consuming task.

Re: KAM Fans

Well the later missions in my campaign will probably use dynamic scripts to make a 'smart AI defence'. There is a lot possible this way, but first I need siege weapons. :P
