I think a button for only feeding the hungry units would be good. But then there are two buttons for feeding which makes the interface more complex and more confusing for new players (I'm not sure what icon you could use to distinguish the two different types of feeding). Any ideas?
How about 2 checkboxes in unit's interface, maybe below current feeding button? By default it would be set at, let's say, "feed hungry" (units in troop with food icons above their heads) and player could change it into "feed all" if he wants to. More info about feeding would be displayed while hovering over those checkboxes.

Checkboxes would be a very bad design in my opinion.

@Tiank Also think checkboxes is a bad idea because its not fit in current interface - all buttons are well aligned, it will looks ugly if put some checkboxes there. Also KaM has not many settings now, and I believe it will remain the same.

Yeah this exactly. Thanks for putting it in words. I could do no more than imagine the dis functionality of such an interface, but I couldn't say literally why :)
