But my idea is actually a buff.
Watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWkYYQusKNI and go to 1:23.
Problem with storm attack now is that soldiers move like retards.

I have been out of the loop for a while, so I am just curious as to what has been tested on this subject?

We made soldiers start running immediately (rather than walking for 1 tile) and we made them all run a similar and longer distance (in TSK/TPR some units would get tired and stop very early). We didn't get much feedback on it.

Because we're so close to the next release we won't be making any further balance changes, but we can discuss changes after this release.

Now, I have played the new release. First of all I really like what you did with the thing.
Regarding this topic: It seems to me that the storm attack is starting more smoothly. But I still run into the same issues. I think to make it useful we should try out Ben's idea:
Actually, I would like to see this in action. If it becomes too "op" then maybe we can make nerf it differently, such as the "leader" yelling "charge" then storm starts 2 seconds after or so.
I think this would be perfect. In my opinion, the main problem isnt the time it takes them to start running - i said arranging them to go the right way, if that's what was understood - but more so the direction in which they are running. In these two seconds the leader is yelling "CHARGE!!!" or "STORM THEM!" Every unit faces the same direction as the leader and only then they start running.

If you are wondering, I mostly use the storm attack to intercept enemies or to minimize the amount of them killed by arrows. In these cases they can be perfectly aligned beforehand. This is what I -- personally -- think the storm attack was meant to be for. After all, running away from knights or something would be called a Panic Escape. I understand it can be used for this, in rare cases I do this too. But on the other hand, horses should still outrun men in my opinion.

How do you guys feel about it?

For me, the main problem always was that they ran in all directions. I actually liked that they didn't go so far, and I think making them run further made it worse. You see, when they all run into the correct direction it's great to have them run far. However, if one of them runs into the wrong direction, he might run into a watchtower or he might be caught by the enemy and so drag the whole group to its doom. Having them run further only supports this.
It is nice that they start running immediately though.

Agreed with TDL and Rhaenon's idea. Storm attack would be at its most useful if they can all be made to run in the same direction imo. As it is now, I wouldn't use it often in multiplayer.

I did use it in single player over the past few weeks though, during my playthrough of Dicsoupcan's campaign.
