OS: Windows 7 x64
Soundcard: Creative Sound blaster X-FI titanium

The issue is after i start the game i can hear sound effects just fine, the music is also playing.
Then after 20 sec ingame the sound effects dissapair. cant hear units or warnings etc etc... ONLY music.

I tried to download the newest openAL.
Reinstalled everything, i use the GOG version of TPR.

Could be sound-card driver bug, did you reinstall these?

I dont think it is, any other suggestions? The game was working 4 months ago, nothing new on the sound driver side. But on reinstall of the game now its bugged.

I also use Creative gear. A creative 3D tactic Alpha.
First I had these issues but what worked for me was to install "ALchemy" it is a tool by Creative that is designed to enhance OpenAL's performance.
You can add games to it and it should make the stuff better.
I installed it alongside all the new driver packages for the headset.

Be sure to first completely remove the previously installed version.
Then unplug the device, whilst the PC is turned off, start the pc and shut it down again, then plug it back in and it should work as it used to.
If not there is more to it.

The above worked for me, so it might for you. :)

Thanks for this, i did as you described. Same results :'(

Game starts, music and SFX works, then 20 sec into gameplay SFX stops and music goes on.

Hello! Just found my old cd of KaM again and then after googling I found this KaM Remake! It's awesome haha, but...

I have exactly the same problem. After clicking on 10-15 units, the SFX completely dissapears but the music keeps going.
If I switch from fullscreen to windowed or if I restart the game, I have sound again till it dissapears again as described above.

I've got OpenAL installed and I've tried ALchemy.
I'm running Windows 10 and I also have an X-fi Titanium sound card.

I'll let you know if I find something...

I just tried the KAM from GOG without the remake mod, and the sound works great.

So it must be linked to the remake itself and not soundcard.
The remake has worked great so far but latest update shit on some of us.

I sendt them an mail and link to this thread.
Lets hope it gets fixed soon.

Just tested previous version now "kam_remake_full_r5503"

Same thing, cannot be the remake then... What the hell is going on..?
Alchemy activated for old games, installed the ai thing... hmmm...

How can the GOG version work but not the remake?

How can the GOG version work but not the remake?
The remake was made from scratch and has code-wise pretty much nothing to do with the gog version, so it's ofc entirely possible that the sounds effects work with the original KaM or the gog KaM version and not the remake.
