Why does it have to work like this now? I think that is a bug/flaw.
It was changed when you rewrote fog to be overlaid on top of sprites to stop them suddenly "popping" into appearance like they do in KaM. So as you explore up the map the tree sprite is now gradually revealed from bottom to top, rather than all appearing at once (where the tree overhangs into the revealed fog). This change greatly improved the way villages look because it looked strange in KaM when a whole barracks suddenly popped into existence.

Ah, I see. I guess we cant have bothnice trees and nice houses in FOW without doing extra work on detecting objects ground area and etc.
