Clans

I've been seeing some clans popping up for a while now. I was wondering if any of those are interested in a specific place for Clans in general and their own clan.

The idea is to create a Clan forum and use it for general stuff. I can create subforums for each specific clan, so they can discuss things with only the clan members.
Only clan members will have access to that clan subforum.
I don't know if this is necessary, I'm just posting it here. Please let me know what you think :)

PS. Everyone's welcome to comment, not only clan members.

Re: Clans

It could be a nice feature for large clans, but for us it won't be that useful because we only got three people :p

It could be an opportunity to recruit members or setup Clan Wars. But it depends if you want that or not ;)

Re: Clans

BTW it will also be possible to see who's in which clan. They'll just become new user groups.

Re: Clans

Well, in KaM there's 1 big clan, 1 medium-sized one, 3-4 small ones. Not sure if that's enough to make the clan subforums. On the other hand, maybe that'd encourage more people to join/create clans?

That may very well be :)

Another thing is, I have absolutely no clue to who's in which clan. There are several topics, but most of them are just a joke.

Re: Clans

Maybe it's an idea if every clan would just set up a thread for their clan, including a list of members?

That's one part of the idea, but there's no real forum for that other than General Talk.

Re: Clans

Well, then I'd say: Go ahead. There's always a way back if it turns out nobody will use it, and you could always move or archive the threads that are there.

Re: Clans

I'm not sure if a clan forum is necessary. We could just continue to talk about forums in "General Talk" in the KaM forum. Then, we'd just have user groups assigned when a clan is formed.

Actually being assigned to a clan may increase their popularity. If this proves true, we could always make another forum later.
I used to spam this forum so much...

Re: Clans

Yeah that may be a better idea. Or create a specific clan forum only by clan request.

Also, I won't 'chase' clan leaders if they're interested in having their clans shown publicly on the forum within their profile. If they think it's a nice idea, they can just contact me anytime they like.

Re: Clans

Due to absence for some time, I only got to read this topic now. I think I agree with Ben that the General Talk is sufficient for clans to discuss their business. As long as we can ask the administrators to filter out the troll messages if any pop up from non-clan members. Other than that, it would be a good platform to discuss upcoming clan wars and having user groups for serious clans will have a good influence on the feeling of coherence. I'd love that!

I have the feeling you're saying 2 different things, or I'm just misunderstanding you.

A) General Talk is sufficient
B) There should be a specific Clan section to discuss upcoming Clan Wars.

Having user groups for Clans is something I'm willing to do by request.

Re: Clans

Maybe I didn't express myself all too well. I tried to say this: general talk is sufficient, because other clans can invite you for a game by visiting your topic. Specific groups for clans would be nice, so you can feel more like a team. If you are going to add this, then the Dukes would like to have such a group.

Please PM me the list with all the users that belong to your clan, and please link their profile pages. If you want you can also create your own 'clan image' that can be shown below your avatar (like me, Lewin and Krom).
