Higher Resolutions Now Supported & More Walkthroughs

The long overdue update to clean the background code to be independent from the set resolution of 1280x1024 has now finally been finished, so the backgrounds should now be properly centered in all resolutions. I still recommend anyone to use 1280x1024 for optimal view, but both higher and lower resolutions should now have properly centered backgrounds and some tables I apparently had forgotten to center that I hadn't noticed.
So was that all? Nope, our dear friend WFTonyD15 has been busy writing walkthroughs for The Shattered Kingdom campaign, and the walkthroughs for mission five, six and seven have now been added, meaning that the walkthrough now properly covers the first seven missions!

Hi,
I'd just like to report that you didn't update the TSK map, so the flags for mission 5 and 6 are still red, making it appear that the new walkthroughs don't exist.

Thank you!
Lewin.

Good work. I'm using 1152x864 an so far I found no flaws :)

Well, except just on little tiny spot (checked in Opera&IE):

I've marked with Red where spacing looks too big (could be better if it was half of current), and with Blue where spacing looks too little (needs +2px or so).

Thats all only a suggestion of personal opinion. As I said - it's all looking great already :)

I think it's better, you can leave it like that. Still reducing Red by few px and adding few more px to Blue and below won't harm

Did some further changes, reduced the spacing between title and sub-menu a lot.

Looks better now. I still say you could make it fit properly onto 1024x768 by removing the excess space between menu sections.

Oh, and I have another suggestion: You know the coat of arms either side of the main page, (with enter the site) well, why did you invert one of them instead of just using the two that are used on the game menu? (so each one is a different image) IMO it would look better like that, and more like the TSK menu.

Just suggestions though.

Killed the excess spacing between the page groupings and resized some too big tables on certain pages. Making the website work with 1024x768 without any vertical scrolling does seem quite impossible after doing a check, but I might try fixing it to work at 1152x864 as it seems to be quite popular around here for whatever reason? :D

My reasons are that my screen still supports a decent refresh rate at 1152x864, but at 1024x1280 it only supports 60Hz (which is really far too slow) - and 1024x1280 on a 17" screen?? I'd need a magnifier to read normal text
And then there are programs that expect an aspect ratio of 4:3, and 1024x1280 is really 5:4, which can cause strangeness to happen (in Assassins Creed even!)
But 1152x864 is all good, not too small, not too slow (75Hz) and has the right aspect ratio.

Same point here: 1152x864 is the largest mode on my CRT that allows 100Hz refresh rate. Also it looks quite fit for 17".

When using full-screen (F11 key) at 1152x864 site actualy looks very good :) Only issue - some tables, e.g. FanArt are too wide and don't fit into main frame.

Well, it's all fine with 22" 1680*1050 @ 60HZ... I never had a problem with low refresh rate.
It looks exactly like a high one!

Higher refresh rates look the same as low ones, but they hurt your eyes less.

Refresh rate just means: How many times per second does the screen refresh. (update) So if you set it to 60 then the screen refreshes 60 times per second. With big CRT screens you can notice the difference of a low refresh rate because the screen appears to be flickering. I find this irritating and so prefer higher refresh rates.
On LCD screens refresh rates are basically unneeded.

But if you're happy then it doesn't matter.
